Bank of Jordan: Main Sponsor of the "Start Right" Summer Camp for Young Entrepreneurs

Date: 10/08/2025

Hebron – As part of its social responsibility and belief in the importance of investing in youth and training them in entrepreneurship and financial management, Bank of Jordan has sponsored the "Start Right" summer camp for young entrepreneurs. The camp is organized by the Masar Foundation for Entrepreneurship and Empowerment and the National Council for Development, and its activities will kick off at the end of July in the city of Hebron.

The camp targets boys and girls from Hebron Governorate, aged 12 to 17, and features a training and educational program that is the first of its kind in Palestine. It aims to develop the skills of the younger generation in areas of entrepreneurship, innovation, and financial management through practical training in project management, design thinking, financial planning, team building, and marketing of entrepreneurial ideas. The program also includes awareness sessions and interactive training workshops delivered by specialists on financial literacy, proper money management, and the handling of personal and community financial resources.

This camp is part of a comprehensive national plan being implemented in five Palestinian governorates during July and August, starting in Hebron and continuing through Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Ramallah and Al-Bireh, and finally Jericho and the Jordan Valley. It is held in partnership with the Palestine Monetary Authority and with the participation of several national and international institutions, as well as private sector and civil society organizations, with Bank of Jordan as the main sponsor.

Mr. Saif Issa, CEO of Bank of Jordan branches in Palestine, emphasized the bank’s belief in the importance of investing in the younger generation and providing a nurturing environment for their ideas and entrepreneurial initiatives. “Our sponsorship of this camp stems from our belief that youth are the foundation of the future, and that building financial and entrepreneurial awareness at an early age is both a national and societal responsibility,” he said.

Issa described the "Start Right" camp as a model initiative in Palestine, offering a comprehensive training program and extensive collaboration between official, civil, and private institutions. “Our support for this camp is an extension of Bank of Jordan’s mission to empower communities, support innovation, and promote financial literacy among future generations,” he added.

He also noted that Bank of Jordan continues to expand its impactful community partnerships by supporting programs that make a real difference in the lives of Palestinian youth, opening up new opportunities for entrepreneurship, employment, and creativity.

More than 300 participants from the targeted governorates are expected to benefit from the camp, with small entrepreneurial projects presented at the end of each stage.

It is worth noting that Bank of Jordan was among the first financial institutions to operate in Palestine after 1994. The bank offers advanced and distinguished banking services, targets a wide range of Palestinian sectors, and contributes to supporting and developing the local economy.
