Ramallah – As part of its corporate social responsibility and commitment to supporting the healthcare sector in Palestine, Bank of Jordan signed a memorandum of understanding with the Municipality of Ajja to support the municipality’s Emergency and Ambulance Center located south of Jenin.
The memorandum was signed at the bank’s regional headquarters in Ramallah by Saif Issa, CEO of Bank of Jordan branches in Palestine, and Shahin Omariyyeh, Mayor of Ajja.
The agreement includes the purchase of an advanced medical device for conducting cardiac stress tests at a cost of approximately USD 17,000. This device will enhance the cardiology services at the Ajja Emergency and Ambulance Center, which serves residents of Ajja and neighboring towns and villages in the southern Jenin area.
In recognition of the bank’s generous contribution to the healthcare sector, the treatment room housing the new device will be named after Bank of Jordan.
Issa emphasized that this initiative is part of the Bank of Jordan’s firm commitment to its social responsibility, within a strategy that addresses the essential needs of society. One of its main pillars is the sustainable and impactful support of the healthcare sector, with the goal of improving healthcare services and providing high-quality medical care to citizens.
He added that alongside its Relief Umbrella Program to support the humanitarian situation in Gaza, Bank of Jordan continues to strengthen strategic partnerships with local community institutions in the West Bank—particularly those in the education and healthcare sectors—by supporting and enabling them to improve their services for the public.
For his part, Omariyyeh expressed pride in the partnership with Bank of Jordan and thanked the bank for its generous donation of the cardiac stress testing device to the Ajja Emergency and Ambulance Center. He affirmed that the device represents a significant leap forward and will raise the level of healthcare services available to citizens in Ajja and the greater southern Jenin region.
He noted that the device will serve more than 10 surrounding towns and villages and benefit over 50,000 citizens. Strengthening the center’s medical services will also spare patients the burden of traveling to the city to undergo necessary tests.
It is worth noting that Bank of Jordan is among the first financial institutions to establish a presence in Palestine after 1994. The bank offers advanced and distinguished banking services, targets a wide range of Palestinian sectors, and contributes to the support and development of the local economy.
